Tall Ships!

Tall Ships came to town this weekend, so we headed down to the canal to check them out!

They are so cool to see in person, I just can't believe people stayed on these things for such long periods of time

Here they are as you walk up to where they were docked.

Gray and Andrew looking at the ships as we wait for the foot bridge to go back down..

This is the Bounty..the main attraction because it was in Hollywood movies, most recent being Pirates of the Carribean..Black Pearl anyone..

If you have seen the movie, you will recognize this..it is where they put the pieces of wood in and pushed it around and around

These are the names of all the original sailors on the maiden voyage in 1960-1961

From down below looking up

The mess hall if you will..

Gray walking off the Bounty by himself (he insisted!)

We also toured a couple of the other boats..

This one is the Ronald Amundsen

The Europa

Another one doing a tour...which mind you cost $200 a head!

A nice shot of the lift bridge

A canon on one of the ships, but can't remember which one

Gray looking at the water..this kid loves the water!

The ships were magnificent..it was hot, humid and busy..but we did it..we saw the Tall Ships!
